AMCF FAMILY CAREGIVING COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY: HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO ARE LIVING IN A HOUSEHOLD WITH A PARENT, SIBLING, OR GRANDPARENT WHO SUFFERS FROM A MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION.

Attachments to be Included with Application: 

1.) Copy of High School Student I.D. 

2.) 500-word essay explaining any special circumstances or extreme challenges you and your family have experienced as the caregiver of someone suffering from mental illness. Tell us how you met this challenge in your daily life. Please be sure to include what advice you would give other students in a similar situation and/or people/organizations that have helped you or your family cope. How has this experience shaped you? Has this affected what you choose to pursue in college/trade school? 

 The Following Rules Apply:

1. The applicant must be living with someone who suffers from a mental health condition and has participated in their caretaking. 
2. Submit no more than a one-page (500-word maximum) essay. 
3. Submit copy of current student I.D. 
4. Submit all documentation by April 15, 2025. Incomplete applications will be disqualified. 
5. The completion of this application form does not create an obligation to award a scholarship to the applicant.  
6. If a scholarship is awarded, proof of enrollment will be required before scholarship funds can be released. Funds are released directly to the institution/program you have been accepted to.  
7. Submission of application consents to the sharing of your story and authorizes AMCF to publish written essay in AMCF newsletters/website ONLY if scholarship is awarded.  

Selection Process:

1. The recipient of this scholarship will be selected by the AMCF Board of Directors.
2. Scholarship selection shall be made without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, or disability.
3. The scholarship awarded will be based upon the overall quality of the application and the scholarship essay.
4. Scholarships are available nationwide. 
5. Deadline Date is April 15, 2025. Any applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
